This review is from: Financial & Managerial Accounting , Ch 1-15 (Financial Chapters) (3rd Edition) (Myaccountinglab) (Paperback) Make sure you get MyAccountingLab with this book because it does not come with it when you buy it. You just get the book alone. Also, if you get it from Myaccountinglab.com, the text book is a lot cheaper too because it is digital and plus you get to practice with the the software. The textbook alone is useless without Myaccountinglab with hands on practice. The main problem is the chapters must be read 2-3 times to get an idea of what the writers are talking about. The writers seem to leave out the "why" in this book that leads to the "gotcha" moments. For experienced accounting personnel, this may be helpful. However as a student or beginner, you may feel very lost. You must purchase an access key (another -0)and I encourage you to get some additional study guides outside this text. Luckily, I have taken Managerial accounting in the past so I did not have to rely on this author's explanations of the material. The concepts are not explained well in this book and the problems are worded in such a way that you could argue that there are multiple correct answers. Avoid. IMHO it's a terrible book, makes an already complicated subject much harder to understand. Reading it is a drag, it's so boring! Also, the examples are very complicated and the author does not explain it well, it's very easy to get lost. And finally, it does a very poor job at defining key terms and explaining key concepts, it basically lets you to figure it out on your own. Not a helpful book at all.
