Can I host a good Minecraft server with these specs?

Question by guitarplayer29: Can I host a good Minecraft server with these specs?
I want to play Minecraft with my friends (Only about 5-8 max) and I wanted to know if these specs would make a good server:

Motherboard - ASUS M5A97 AMD 9 Series AM3+ Motherboard (ATX, Socket AM3+, AMD 970 Chipset, 2133MHz DDR3 (O.C.), SATA 6.0 Gb/s, 8-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, CrossFireX Ready)

CPU - AMD HDT45TWFGRBOX Phenom II X6 1045T Processor (Six Core, 6MB L3 Cache, 3MB L2 Cache, 2.70GHz, Socket AM3, 95W, Fan, Retail)

RAM - Crucial BLS4G3D1339DS1S00 Ballistix Desktop Memory Module (4GB, PC3-10600, DDR3-1333MHz, 240-pin DIMM, 1.5V, CL9, Non-ECC, Unbuffered)

Video Card - EVGA 01G-P3-1557-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti SuperClocked Video Card (1GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0 (x16), Mini-HDMI, Dual DVI, DirectX 11 SLI Ready)

Internet Speed: (Average) Download 9 Mbps, Upload 4 Mbps

I'm not sure if I missed anything and I don't think the Video Card really matters for Minecraft, but would these specs be able to host a server with about 5-8 people on it max?

Hello,

Yes, your computer is good enough to host a Minecraft server for 5-8 people. I host a server for 10-20 people on a 2004 computer so yours is more then good enough.

I hope this helped!
