Question by Michael: Need help customizing a gaming computer!?
Hey everyone, I need a new computer and want to customize a gaming one for games like WoW, Crysis, CS:S, etc for about $ 1000 flat. I don't need a monitor or keyboard or speakers either =p.

So can anyone help? =)

I don't know that much about computer building especially motherboards so IDK if there is a way to get basicly that but lower a few things that won't effect anything to much =\

So my question I guess is can you guys customize a computer for me for as close to $ 1000 as you can? or take what I have already and lower some of the things you won't think will effect to much until it reaches like $ 1000?

Thank you very much if anyone can help!

Not good, you have to start overt, here is why:
Q9550 CPU is getting old, with the same price you can get more from new Core i5 and i7 processors.
G41 motherboard is really the low end of all of them
Don't get Apevia cases - low quality, not durable, one went on fire once in my room (I am building PCs too :-)
XION power supplies sux, only Antec, Cooler Master, Corsair and several other should be considered.
Have you checked GTX 460 videocard - it's great according to the benchmarks - will keep price down.

Now forget about Cyber power and get here:

or
http://centaurusPC.com

Honestly - much better quality and value - always bunch of free upgrades and more. Shoot em an email and tell about your dilemma - $ 1000 good gaming PC - at least you would be able to compare to others, provide this cyberpower link too. They will beat it to bloody pulp.

Good luck

AMD Budget PC built Nov 2010
This is my Girlfriends computer I built for her at the end of last year for Christmas. It's a little late now but I figured I'd put this video up for those of you who want to see a new PC video. This was built on a strict budget but as you'll see in the video still has lots of room for upgrading if need be. It's a 3.0GHZ dual core now but the motherboard will handle triple, quad and even six core CPU's for the future. It has four DIMM slots for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, PCI-e 2.0 x16 and a decent enough power supply to handle a decent gaming video card and lots of SATA ports for adding extra Hard Drives. The AMD 880G/Radeon HD4250 onboard video is decent enough for anything but modern gaming. It supports dual monitors with VGA, DVI and HDMI with sound so it's great for hooking up to an LCD/Plasma TV or home theater setup. It just goes to show even on a budget build if you spend a few bucks more on the PSU and motherboard you will have something with better expandability. I could have saved or on a cheaper motherboard but it wouldn't have all the features this one has. This motherboard also has all solid state capacitors and a 3-year warranty.
