Doctors perform Lasik surgery with different kinds of Lasik lasers. Depending on the medical profile of your eyes, one kind could be better for you than the others may. However, the degree of results rests on the skill and experience of your doctor.Doctors perform Lasik with excimer lasers.

The common Lasik Lasers in use today are:

1. Slit scanning lasers, which have small beams. The beam comes from slits of variable sizes on a rotating device

2. Spot scanning lasers, which remove tissue from the cornea with a beam of small diameter. This is the most commonly used laser

3. Wavefront-guided lasers, which use a special device to scan defects in the eye. The device does this by tracking the path of light through the eye.

One difference in these lasik lasers is the speed with which they remove corneal tissue. They can take anything between 30 and 60 seconds or more to do the job. The other difference is in the laser beam’s diameter. Patients with larger pupils need lasers of appropriate diameter.

Lasik laser equipment comes in different configurations to suit every kind of Lasik surgery. Surgeons use some machines to correct myopia, or nearsightedness. Hyperopia or farsightedness calls for different equipment. Certain lasers are most suitable to correct astigmatism, a condition that causes distortion of the visual image on the retina because of irregularities in the cornea.

All the latest Lasik laser machines feature automated eye-tracking systems. These systems keep the laser directed on the target area. They have increased Lasik’s overall success rate considerably since their introduction.

This isn't really how many types of cheese but if you read this its says thousands of kinds.
Cheese
According to legend, cheese was first made in the Middle East when a man travelled across the desert with his saddlebag full of milk for the journey. After some time he stopped for a drink and found that the milk had soured. It had become solid lumps and watery liquid, or curds and whey.

The curds are the solid part of milk, and consist of protein, fat, water and a small amount of sugar and milk. The whey is the liquid that separates from the solid. It contains sugar.

Today there are thousands of different kinds of cheese. The most popular kind is cheddar. It was named after the village of Cheddar in England.

Cheddar is made by heating the curds so they lose moisture, or whey, then pressing them so that even more moisture is lost. The last of the whey is then drained off.

First the curd is cut into large blocks which are stacked on racks, then rotated so that different ones are on top. This is called 'cheddaring'.

The next stage is to mill the curds into small pieces and add salt. The curd is then put into big hoops lined with cheesecloth and pressed.

After this the cheese is left to mature, kept at 12º C. Every few weeks the cheeses are turned and brushed so that they mature evenly. The longer it is stored, the more flavour a cheese develops. Tasty cheddar is usually stored for 4-8 months.

Modern methods of cheesemaking have made the cheese flavours more standard. Instead of using cheesecloth, large blocks of cheddar are pressed into blocks which are then vacuum-packed. This doesn't allow the cheese to breathe and form a rind like the traditional method, but it does make it cheaper to make cheese.

Processed cheddar is made from a blend of cheddars. It is heated with additives which prevent it from maturing. Processed cheddar is made into blocks, slices or sticks. It is also made into a spread.
