How well will world of warcraft run on a MSI G31TM-P21 Motherboard with Intel Core 2 Quad?

Question by Pierce: How well will world of warcraft run on a MSI G31TM-P21 Motherboard with Intel Core 2 Quad?
I'm getting new parts for my desktop and am considering buying this bundle,

how well do you think world of warcraft will run on it?

Answer by Iamabuckeyefan
World of warcraft is a very low demanding game compared to the others out there. I would reconsider the celeron as the processor because they are the very low end budget cpu. Look at AMD. I play world of warcraft fine with my specs and I have a single core cpu at 2.0g. Its an amd though so its around Pentium 3.0g equivalent. The motherboard is fine, just do yourself a favor and dont pick the celeron bundle. You might look at getting a seperat PCI-E graphics card if the on-board video doesnt make the grade.

World of Warcraft is known to take CPU's and push them to nearly 100%. The Celeron processor will probably not stand up to the test of even World of Warcraft. Look at at least a 2g Pentium which you can probably get around the same price.

You will also need around 1.5g ram to play it.

Personally I would suggest

Performance will man handle the celeron. and for only 20 bucks more. Descent onboard graphics that should play world of warcraft without the need for a pci-e card.

Things to know before buying or upgrading a PC - Battlefield 3 Commentary
Follow me on Twitter! www.twitter.com I am regularly asked for my opinion or advice on upgrading their PC. I decided that I would put a couple of the main topics regarding upgrading or a buying a new PC into a video. I hope that someone finds this information useful. Naturally there is far too much to cover in a short amount of time, so if you feel that I left something out or you would like to learn more, simply ask your questions in the comments below and I will respond to you. CPU - CPU's these days come in 4,6 and 8 core variants. Choose one that is suitable for your needs. If simply gaming, an i5 or AMD Phenom X4 is MORE than sufficient, however if you think you will be doing more stressful tasks with your PC, you may want to consider a more powerful chip like the Intel i7 or AMD FX 8120/8150 series processors. Both of these processor feature hyperthreading technology which add a virtual core to each physical core effectively doubling its processing power to 8 core! Memory - There is no such thing as too much, but there certainly is a point where more does not equal more performance. 16 gigs is the sweet spot, however gaming typically needs no more than 8gb. 32gb in most instances is complete overkill and even when doing heavy encoding, will not come even close to utilizing all of the memory. Memory is cheap, so get 16gb of a reputable brand and call it a day. Motherboards - Intel no longer uses Northbridge technology so this is more geared towards AMD. A faster ...

Your computer can run pretty well at low and med. I'm not sure about other components since I don't have some knowledge for these parts. It would be better to check each component to see which one needs update.

Good luck!

How well can my computer run Skyrim?

Question by a.mac.50: How well can my computer run Skyrim?
I have an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 4800+ 2500 Mhz with 2GB RAM. My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 6100 nForce 405. I was just wondering if my computer can run Skyrim and if it can, about what settings and fps would I be getting with it?
Any suggestions on how to increase the ram in the rig? I don't know a whole lot about computers tbh.

Best answer:

Answer by Jay the Wolf
I would say you could run the settings Medium to High with minimal loss in FPS.
2GB of ram is the only thing I'm really concerned with, with your rig.
