Thats easy there are 493 of them and Arceus is the strongest.

You can see how many there are and if you click the last one(Arceus)look at his attack,defense .and everything else.

In Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal (I will call them GSC from now on) 251 total Pokemon are available. However, to obtain every single one, you'll have to do multiple trades from different versions. For example, you cannot get the starter Pokemon from Red, Yellow and Blue in GSC. You'd have to trade them over.
GSC features new gyms, Pokemon, Elite Four trainers and the opportunity to visit the lands you visited in Red, Blue and Yellow. Also, Pokemon Crystal allows you to have a personal encounter with the legendary Pokemon Suicune. When you battle it, it will not flee from you in Crystal.
