Question by Michael Amadillo Chloline!: Will this build work???? Need help ASAP ordering computer for son's birthday TONIGHT!!!?
Cooling - ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm Long life bearing CPU Cooler Blue LED

CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

MOBO - ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL

Sound - ASUS Xonar DS 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Audio Card

Power Supply - Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze W0382RU ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Video Card(s) - 2x (Crossfire) SAPPHIRE 100311SR Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

Case - Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

My main questions are these:

Will this case fit all of this??
Should I upgrade the CPU?
Do I need more RAM to support games for the future (3-4 years)
Will this power supply work for crossfire.

I'm a computer novice - and I don't want to dissapoint my son. He wants a gaming rig to last him a while and I want to build it with him. Please help!!!!!

Your son is going to hate me, but that computer is something that a 3D modelling company would use. Most games won't even come CLOSE to using that much power.

Buy an Intel Core i5-2600k Sandy Bridge 3.4Ghz. No game uses the multithreading capabilities of an i7.

Buy an ASUS LGA 1155 motherboard-- ASUS motherboards last forever

Drop the sound card. Seriously, who actually uses a sound card anymore?

And last but DEFINITELY not least, drop one of the HD6970s. Most games don't support crossfire, and even those that do won't use up the 2GB of VRAM in one card, let alone two.

Question by Adam K: How much would it cost to build a computer from the ground up that can run most any modern games on very high?
I want to know roughly how much it would cost to custom build a computer that can play any game on any settings. Also it would be nice to know which parts to buy first, you know, like a place to start and then somewhere to go from there. Thanks in advance.
