Try looking at the district's website and searching that way. I know here in Texas, you can get a school profile, and find out how many 'disciplinary actions were taken, how many kids suspended, etc. online.

What country was the book published in? This is only a guess, but the national library of that country may have some information. Otherwise (and I do not know how successful you will be,) you could consider contacting the publisher.

Like, you have a jar of so many candies or something like that, and you have to guess how many are in the jar. Is there a scientific way to figure that out?

You have to know the size of the candy, the volume of the jar, and how much empty space is left between each candy.
